Literacy Support

Reading Recovery is a comprehensive program available for Year 1 children who are assessed as requiring an intensive intervention to develop their literacy skills. Reading Recovery is a one to one program delivered by a specialist literacy teacher.

Additional assistance is provided in small groups on an “as needed” basis, to students across the school, but mainly in Years 1-4, to support their literacy skills. At times, support is also offered in numeracy, depending on resources available.

Specialised EAL (English as an Additional Language) support is also provided for those students who require that assistance.

In addition to Guidance Officer (psychologist) and Speech Pathologist support offered by DET, the school heavily subsidises additional speech and occupational therapy.
