Star of the Week

Every Thursday, at assembly, ‘Star of the Week’ ribbons and certificates are presented to a child from each class.

The names of the 'Stars of the Week' are listed on Newsfeed via Compass on the Tuesday prior to the assembly.

The ceremony involves an explanation of why the child has been given the award.

Observers at the assemblies will note the great importance attributed by children to these awards.

The award is aimed at improving attitudes, self-esteem and student behaviour. It is one form of positive reinforcement and public recognition of valued attitudes and behaviours in the school.

The ‘Star of the Week’ may wear the ribbon until the following Thursday, then takes the ribbon home to keep.

Occasionally parents and teachers are presented with ribbons.
