A snapshot of our learning progress 2025
Sep 17, 2025
Each year, year 3 and 5 students sit a range of assessments as part of the National Assessment Program of Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN).
The NAPLAN tests are only one aspect of the Auburn Primary School’s assessment process, and do not replace the extensive, ongoing assessments made by teachers about each student’s performance – demonstrated by what they can do, say make and write in their daily learning tasks that form a comprehensive picture of their educational progress.
The results of NAPLAN provide the school with a snapshot of academic performance at any given time, as well as allowing the school to look at trends in data over time.
We are exceptionally proud of our students growth in learning, and credit the ongoing work of our dedicated teaching and support staff, as well as the strong partnerships with parents and carers.
We are proud of the students who sat NAPLAN this year, with results demonstrating that:
- Over 80% of our year 3 and year 5 students achieved ‘exceeding or strong’ results in Reading, Numeracy and Writing
- The number of year 5 students ‘exceeding’ in Reading, Writing and Maths has increased over the past three years.
- ‘Exceeding’ results for our students in year 3 and 5 in Reading, Writing and Maths surpasses similar schools for 2025
These achievements reflect the efforts of our students, commitment to ongoing learning and excellence by our staff, and a focus on high quality teaching and learning.
