Book Week (month!) at Auburn

We LOVE books and reading at Auburn PS! This was evident in our month long celebration linked to Book Week.
The Scholastic book fair was well attended, with our families and students purchasing a range of new reading material, and contributing to additional books for the school.
Our parent volunteers ran a secondhand costume sale, in preparation for our annual Book Character Parade, which, as always, was a vibrant morning with characters of all shapes and sizes parading through the school yard.
Our Read – a – thon saw our students (and staff) recording their pages and books across the month, and seeking donations and sponsors to help raise money for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation – a charity identified by our Junior School Council.
We capped it off with a live performance for students of two of the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) shortlisted Books of the Year – The Garden of Broken Things and Small Acts.
