Student engagement and wellbeing
Oct 08, 2025
Each year, in Term 2, students in year 1 – 4 complete the ‘Attitudes to School Survey’, which collects data on how students feel in relation to their school, their learning, health and wellbeing, their relationships and resilience.
With a targeted focus on high expectations, relationships and engagement from the staff over the past few years, we are thrilled to see this coming through in this survey data, with some highlights noted below:
- 96% of students responded positively to the statements ‘my teacher makes the work we do in class interesting’ and ‘my teacher makes learning fun’
- 85% students responded positively to statements relating to Teacher Concern
- 91% of students identified that they have either normal or high levels of resilience
- 94% of students responded positively to statements relating to Sense of Connectedness
- 98% of students responded positively to statements relating to High Expectations for Success.
In addition to this qualitative data, students also shared insights as they completed the survey, noting that their relationships with peers and teachers are something they look forward to about coming to school, as well as the project based learning opportunities, use of technology to support learning and our regular wellbeing check ins supporting their engagement.
Alongisde our strong NAPLAN learning data, this data is a celebration of the programs, processes and experiences we provide here at Auburn.
